Webinar Description:

The diesel engine is a workhorse of modern commerce and has been constantly improved upon over the last century. Unfortunately, engine fouling and specifically injector fouling continue to occur due to great variations in end-use, fuel composition, and fuel quality. An additional dimension is the increasing use of renewable fuels, and their impact on engine performance. The diesel industry therefore continues to rely upon surrogate engine tests to help predict and inform what types of deposits can be problematic and to access how well deposit control additives work. This review will give an overview of the leading standardized industry tests, the nature of the deposits in each, and a discussion on how these tests may correlate to real world vehicle performance.
