Toulouse, the fourth-largest city in France, is located in the southwestern part of the country, and is known as "La Ville Rose" (The Pink City). Its nickname comes from the distinctive pink terracotta bricks used in many of its buildings. Renowned as a hub for aerospace—home to the headquarters of Airbus and several important aviation sites, Toulouse boasts a lively cultural scene, beautiful riverfronts along the Garonne, and picturesque squares filled with cafes and markets. The historic city center includes landmarks such as the Basilica of Saint-Sernin (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), the Capitole de Toulouse, and the Musée des Augustins.
