Webinar Description:

This presentation will consider issues related to the possibility corrosion phenomena and oxidation stability during long-term storage of gasoline containing an increasing percentage of Bioethanol. The presence of bioethanol, due to its characteristics, affect the long-term storage properties of gasoline. The selection of a proper chemical is pivotal to manage the oxidation stability and corrosive tendency of a hydrocarbon blend in which water can be drawn out by the hydrophilic alcohols, such as bioethanol. The importance of a proper choice of chemicals, according to the properties of gasoline, will be the focus of this eLearning Webinar.

Presenter: Silvia Bozzi, Fuel Additives Development & Marketing at CHIMEC S.p.A.
Silvia Bozzi is a chemist and has been at CHIMEC since July of 2000. Previously, she was involved in chemical application for a petrochemical plant and begin with fuel additive chemical applications starting in 2008. From 2008 to 2014, she was a lab specialist for fuel additives. During this period, she had experience in fuel legislation in the European and EMEA market and the selection of the proper chemicals for improving the quality and properties of conventional fuels, such as jet fuel, gasoline, diesel, biodiesel, and fuel oil. In 2014, she became the Senior Product Manager/Technical Application Coordinator for fuel additive product portfolios and is currently the Development and Marketing Manager for the fuel additive product lines and applications.

Silvia is fully involved with innovation activity, including the development of specialty and performance chemicals for mineral and renewable fuels and biofuels, heating and bunker oil. In the last year, she’s followed the new markets for biofuel from new raw materials and renewable feedstocks. She is also involved in scouting activity regarding new generation and non-conventional fuels for the automotive market. She has been a member of the CEN TC 19-JWG1 e WG 14 since the beginning of 2019.
